Rampage lose two on road trip east

The road warriors of the Prince Rupert Rampage travelled to the far eastern reaches of the CIHL this weekend, but the trip home came without any points in the CIHL standings as the Rampage dropped both games of their two game road trip.

Saturday night the Rampage were in Lac La Hache, where they held on for the first period, but couldn't  catch the Tomahawks in periods two and three, losing to the host squad 9 to 5.

The Pointstreak home page of the CIHL outlines the game story with a summary of the Saturday action, which saw Josh Kierce pick up his first goal as a Rampage in the first period. Other Rampage markers in the first came from Korey Movold and Jared Meers.

Rupert scored again in the second period when Meers picked up his second goal of the game, the last Rampage goal came in the third when Korey Movold scored unassisted midway through the final period.

Rupert held close in shots, peppering the Lac La Hache goaltender with 30 shots on the night, Colby Hagman faced the Tomahawk onslaught turning aside 30 of the 39 shots.

Lac La Hache took the bulk of the penalties with thirty eight minutes in the box, including a 10 minute miscellaneous misconduct for 10 minutes at the end of the game.

The Rampage were penalized four times for eight minutes on the game.

Sunday's match up took the Rampage into Williams Lake, where the weary Rampage were knocked off by the host Stampeders by a score of 7-1

The Pointstreak website has not been updated from Sunday's action, we'll include the link to the summary to that game when it is available, both summaries from the weekend can be found below.
