Rampage playoff aspirations on the line with must win weekend

The next 48 hours or so most likely will provide Prince Rupert Rampage fans the news if the CIHL playoffs are in their future for February and March.

The Rampage find themselves in a must win situation Saturday and Sunday, with the task tough right out of the gate with the league leading Smithers Steelheads in town for a Saturday night showdown at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.

Should the home side find the scoring mark to topple the best the CIHL has to offer, then they face their more immediate of concerns, the Houston Luckies, the team that the Rampage are currently trailing in their bid for a playoff berth in the 2012-13 season.

With Saturday marking the third last game of the season for the Rampage, the margin of error is obvious,  a loss would make their playoff hopes that much more difficult, while even with wins Saturday and Sunday, the final game of the year against  the Omenica Ice on January 19th then becomes the most important game of the year.

It all plays out in front of what should be a packed Jim Ciccone Centre Saturday night with game time 7:30, Sunday's potentially season changing game with the Luckies, features a puck drop of 1:30 PM.

You can review all of our Rampage items from the year from our Rampage Archives, other CIHL notes can be found here.
