Keep your shovels and brushes handy... just in case!

While Saturday has brought a brilliantly sunny day for the North Coast, depending on how the wind blows, the clouds shift and the temperatures drop, Prince Rupert may get a taste of winter over the next few days.

The Forecast from Environment Canada is calling for Periods of Wet Snow on Saturday night and into Sunday, rain will return to the North Coast for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The prospects of snow once again increase as we head towards Thursday and Friday.

Saturday's accumulations at the moment are not expected to be more than 5 cm in total, though total amounts through the remainder of the snowy forecast have not been provided by the weather service.

Should the right mixture of precipitation and cold mix over the next five days, then Bill Horne, the City's General Manager for Enginereing and Public Works may get a chance to put his snow plan into operation.

You can keep up to date on the latest forecast from the Environment Canada website, while road conditions eastbound along the Yellowhead and other regional highways can be reviewed from the Drive BC website or twitter feed.
