Rampage back at home, with Kitimat in town Saturday night

The Prince Rupert Rampage will be looking to get back on the winning theme tonight , as the Kitimat Ice Demons arrive in town, prepared to do their best to keep the Rampage from claiming their second victory of the CIHL season.

The Rampage who lost a two game road trip to Houston last weekend, have yet to claim victory this season at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre, something that they will be working hard to correct, as they settle in for their third home ice date of the 2013-14 CIHL campaign.

The challenge however will be a tough one, the always tough Ice Demons are feeling a bit frustrated from the last few weeks, having suffered losses in Smithers and Houston in mid October. Things didn't get much better for Kitimat last night, when the Ice Demons were handily dispatched by the Terrace River Kings by a score of 6-1 in a physical game at the Terrace Sportsplex.

All of which means that Kitimat may be in a bit of a snarly mood as they take to the Jim Ciccone ice tonight, making things interesting for the Rupert squad, looking for opportunities to put some pucks in the net in front of the always boisterous home side crowd.

The teams last met on October 12th, when Kitimat came into town and claimed two points on the strength of a 3 to 1 victory over the Rampage.

Kitimat, despite their recent struggles currently holds down third place in the CIHL West Division, with three wins and three losses on the year thus far. The Rampage with a record of 1 and 4, will be looking to try and reduce some of that gap on those listings by the time the final buzzer sounds tonight.

Puck drop this evening at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre is 8 PM.

And while the season is still young, a home ice win tonight could be pivotal to the Rampage ambitions for the season, as the Saturday home date will be the last that the team will see of the Jim until the end of the month.

Next weekend the Rampage head out on a lengthy and challenging CIHL road trip, with games in Williams Lake, Quesnel on Saturday and Sunday.

They then head for Kitimat on the 16th, before they return to home ice on November 23rd with a home date against the Smithers Steelheads.
