Highway 16 CLOSED West of Prince George

Update: Road reopened to one lane alternating traffic at 8 PM



Another motor vehicle incident in Northern British Columbia has resulted in the closure of Highway 16 West of Prince George, with its  reopening not anticipated until later this evening.

One confirmed fatality has been confirmed as a result of the incident, which saw two vehicles collide west of Cluculz Lake Road West between Prince George and Vanderhoof.

RCMP, Ambulance and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the crash, which took place late Monday afternoon, the incident has taken place in an area with no other roads in place to provide for a detour.



Highway 16 has been closed for a 2.5 kilometre stretch in the Bednesti region.

Highways officials will provide a further update on the situation at 6 PM , the apparent earliest time for a reopening is not until 9 PM.
