Blog Watching, week ending April 6, 2014


As part of a weekly feature on the blog, every Sunday we offer up this weeks recap of the top five items viewed over the course of the last seven days.

This week, our foolishness of the first day of April proved to be the most popular item on the blog, with many of our readers seeking to learn more about the mysterious developments of the waterfront.

That was followed by some background into an ongoing police investigation on the east side of the city, as well as word of the details from a coroners report from an incident on the waterfront in 2013.

City issues also took up two spots of the top five this week, with interest high in both our latest item on Watson Island and the controversy over taxation payments from the Port Corporation to the City of Prince Rupert.

Kicking off the review, our top item of the week:

Old Fish Plant to be turned into medical marijuana factory --  Our April Fools Day prank led the pack with attention for the week, we do hope you weren't one of the fooled! (posted April 1, 2014)

While we wait for further word from the City on the Watson Island situation --With little information released yet regarding the latest Watson Island lawsuit, our item on some possible ramifications of it attracted some interest (posted March 31, 2014)

Coroner's Report released on 2013 Prince Rupert Waterfront death -- Some background on a report from the Corner regarding a March 2013 incident on the Prince Rupert Waterfront found a wide audience this week.  (posted April 2, 2014)

Port CEO and President provides Port's view of taxation, PILT and community involvement -- Our review of a contribution to the weekly paper from the Port's Don Krusel wraps up the top five items of the week   (posted March 31, 2014)
