MLA's week, May 5-8, 2014

A snapshot of some of the talking points from North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice, during this week's proceedings of the Legislature.

The first full week of work for May, found the North Coast MLA making one contribution to the work of the House or Committee rooms in Victoria.

Through the thirteen sessions of the Legislature in House or Committee work listed for the week of May 5 -8, MLA Rice appears in the index for the Legislature week session once.

Her only appearance in the House on the week was during the Tuesday morning Question Period, where she made a short speech on the need for better access to mental health resources for residents of rural and coastal British Columbia.

As for committee work, MLA Rice is a member of the Standing Committee on Children and Youth,  that Committee met on Wednesday morning and Ms. Rice again recounted the recent tragedy in Prince Rupert and provided some thoughts on the need for better support for families.

Her work week in Victoria was a short one, as judging by her twitter feed on the week, the MLA was in attendance at the North Central Local Government Association meetings in Fort St. John, which took place Wednesday through Friday.

You can review our look at that gathering from our item here.
