Prince Rupert RCMP seek assistance of public on missing person's file

The Prince Rupert detachment of the RCMP continues on with its search for Jonathan Knight, who was last seen on May 7th, having made plans to travel to a lake south of the Skeena River.

With few signs of his travels so far in their investigation into the case, the RCMP has turned to the public to seek assistance in locating Mr. Knight.

The 24 year old was reported missing on May 8th and since that time, the RCMP have been attempting to retrace his travels.

As part of their investigation they have determined that he purchased a small 7 foot Zodiac style inflatable boat, with plans at the time to travel to a cabin in the Khatada Lake/Davis Lake area.

A search of that area in recent days has turned up no results, with the Prince Rupert man still listed as missing.

The vehicle that Mr. Knight was travelling in was found abandoned at Telegraph Point, 62 kilometres East of Prince Rupert.

Mr. Knight is 5 foot, 11 inches in height and weighs 204 pounds. He has green eyes, brown hair, a moustache and goatee.

The RCMP provided more background on the case file with this information release from yesterday.

They ask that anyone with further information on his whereabouts, or those that may have information regarding his disappearance to contact the RCMP at 911 or through the local detachment at 250-627-0700

Updates on the File  will be posted here as they become available, other media reviews of the search can be found on our Archive of Emergency Service Files for May.
