As part of the wrap up to the May event, Ms. Wishart was awarded the Civilian of the Year award for population under 20,000, that award in recognition of her efforts for the local chapter of the Provincial organization.
Throughout the 2013 year Lonnie dedicated herself tirelessly to the Prince Rupert Crime Stoppers Program, and has done a phenomenal job ...Through her enthusiasm, drive and creative talents Lonnie has designed Crime Stoppers shirts for youth, school poster contests, and had a leading role in developing a Crime Stoppers promotional video. It makes me very proud to have Lonnie as part of our Prince Rupert Crime Stoppers family. Thank-you and congratulations! -- Cst. Crimestoppers is a province wide community based program, registered as a charitable society.
Each organization works with law enforcement, media and residents of each community to assist in making their community safer. They are perhaps best known for the Crime Stoppers Tip Line 1-800-222- TIPS (8477) which offers cash rewards for tips that lead to the arrest and charges made on law breakers.
The organization provides many other resources in each community, seeking to engage residents in taking a more active role in community awareness.
