Regional District seeks your opinion on Recycling

At last week's Prince Rupert City Council session, Mayor Jack Mussallem offered up a short mention on the topic of the Recycling Centre's plans for 24 hour access through a recycling station destined for the Kaien Road facility.

The Mayor's short update, as part of his Mayor's report advised that the construction process of developing that station is now underway.

While Regional District lays its groundwork for that 24 hour, 7 day a week option, they are also looking for feedback from the community on the nature of recycling and how local residents use the current options and what they think of the option of home pick up.

All of that comes as part of a survey currently underway through the Skeena
Queen Charlotte Regional District website, available through their home page, the survey, (available here) takes you through a number of questions on the current facilities, how often we use them and some prospects for the future.

Key among their questions, what cost if any, that local residents would consider fair should our recycling options include a home pick up service.

The survey is available until July 25th, and participants can qualify to Win a Samsung Galaxy Tab electronic device, should they be interested in providing contact information at the end of the survey.

You can learn more about the current Recycling process in place from the SQCRD website.
