School is back in session! Full day of studies starts Tuesday, as does full school zone speed enforcement

Monday found public school students across the North coast ease themselves back into a school routine, as local schools opened to shortened day introductory session for returning students.

With the labour dispute now part of the past and a new contract ratified by the membership of the BCTF, thoughts can perhaps now turn to education for those that were left on the sidelines for much of September.

School District 52 provided information for parents through its website this week as to the launch of the new school year as well as the transit information for parents and school children.

The September 19th letter to parents from the Superintendent of Schools  can be found here.

Ferry and Bus information effective September 23 can be found here.

With the reopening of school, the Prince Rupert detachment of the RCMP also provided a reminder to  motorists.  Advising that enforcement of speed provisions in school zones will shift to all areas of the city, as well as to offer up some helpful guidelines for motorists that may be delivering children to the schools.

For those that wish to research the past few months of labour uncertainty the review of the labour dispute and its eventual resolution can be found here.
