Wednesday night temblor off of Port Hardy

The latest rattle along the Pacific fault line of British Columbia, was recorded in the early evening of Wednesday, as a 4.4 temblor was noted 177 kilometres off the coast at Port Hardy.

The USGS service placed the time of the offshore quake at 9:36 PT, featuring a depth of 10 kilometres.  The distance from populated areas explains for much in the way of the lack of reports from those in the immediate area.

No tsunami warning was generated by the Wednesday evening event, another in the listings of rumbles along that are in the last year, most of which have ranked in the 4 to 5 magnitude range.
