Hallowe'en Fest events starting to take shape

It's still a few weeks off, but thoughts are already turning to goblins and ghosts, witches, warlocks and whatever may be the hot costume design for 2014.

The City's annual Hallowe'en fest will arrive six hours before the witching hour of October 31st (6 PM to 8 PM for those not on ghoulish standard time).

With the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre the location for party central, with a wide range of games to be enjoyed by the youth of the region.

There will be prizes, candy and the always popular Costume Parade as part of this years celebration, the 27th consecutive year that the event has taken place.

The Fireworks show is scheduled for 8:15 PM, a display of pyrotechnics that makes good use of the backdrop of Mount Hays as part of the show.

Weather permitting of course, though it takes a good wind and some heavy rain to derail the show.

For those don't want to hand out candy at their homes this year, they can pick up a door donation sign at their local bank for a minimum donation, which will go towards helping out this years event.

An event of this size and ambition always could use a few more hands, so if you have some time to volunteer on the evening of Hallowe'en Fest organizers would love to hear from you, to find out more about how you can help out call 250-62GHOST (4-4678)
