Harley Riders to take to the streets Saturday for a good cause

The roar of Harley's will be heard throughout Prince Rupert on Saturday afternoon, as the Prince Rupert Harley Riders (and other motorcycle enthusiasts) take to the streets in aid of the Salvation Army's Christmas Toy Drive and Hamper Program.

The Poker Run kicks off from the Salvation Army on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM, with participants travelling to a variety of locations around the area, the parade of motorcycles one of the familiar sights during the first week of October.

Saturday's event marks the 33rd time that the Harley's run the circuit of the city, a route which takes them to a number of stops along the way, wrapping up at the Oceanview Restaurant and Pub on 1st Avenue West, where the riders can fuel up for the evening's main event.

In addition to the Saturday afternoon tour of the city, the evening will provide for the annual night of
entertainment with festivities set to start at 7 PM at the Fisherman's Hall, located on Fraser Street across from Overwaitea.

Admission to that event is by ticket (10 dollars) along with one new toy (with preferences being Athletic or Educational) or Non-Perishable Foods.

Tickets to Saturday nights events are available from any of the participating riders or at the door.

Last year the Harley Riders raised more than 10,000 dollars and collected over 600 toys during their run of the City.

Below are a couple of views as to what last year's ride looked like.
