UNBC Timberwolves look to Home Opener to get back on winning track

It has been a challenging start to the CIS season for the UNBC Timberwolves as the North's University squad has been on the wrong end of some tough scores in their first two weeks of play.

The team which is captained by Prince Rupert resident Sarah Robin will look to turn things around tonight as they host their first home game of the 2014-15 season at the Norther Sport Centre at the Prince George campus.

Tonight's home debut is the first of a two game series against Calgary's Mount Royal University, currently sporting a 1 and 3 record after two weeks.

Ms. Robin has compiled 25 points for the Timberwolves so far this year, all of them in the first week of play for the team, she was no in the lineup when the UNBC squad travelled to the Fraser Valley last weekend for their second week of play.

As we outlined at earlier this month, the Timberwolves are in a transition phase this season, having lost a number of starters through the summer with their graduation from UNBC, Robin and a core group of returning players will be playing a number of roles this season as they look to secure wins and build up confidence for the young squad.

So far this year they have a 0 and 4 record as the season launches. However, despite their early setbacks, the CIS season is still far from over, the last games of the regular season for the Timberwolves come in mid February, leaving a good stretch to run yet.

Game time tonight is 6 PM, while Saturday's match up features a start time of 5 PM, Live streaming of CIS games is available on the CanadaWest streaming network, allowing Ms. Robin's friends and fans on the North Coast to look in and see how the team is doing.
