Rainmakers Hold at Number three after weekend run at North Shore Invitational

The Charles Hays Senior Boys will hold onto to their number three ranking for another week, with a weekend of note taking complete from the North Shore Invitationals, the BC Boys AAA Basketball Rankings delivered the second consecutive third place ranking for the Rainmakers.

Charles Hays won three of their four tournament match ups at the NSIT, falling only to tournament champion Kitsilano in the Championship game on Saturday evening.

Their success in North Vancouver, provided basketball observers in the Vancouver area, with a first hand look at the Rainmaker representatives, and they clearly liked what they saw on the court, keeping Charles Hays at Number three.

That placement has the Rainmakers keeping pace with Richmond's RA McMath Wildcats and the Abbotsford Panthers as part of the top three teams in the province. The Lower Mainland teams remained in their positions atop the AAA Rankings, with the Panthers still the team to topple for provincial bragging rights.

The Rainmakers have been a fixture in the Provincial rankings for a month now, having secured a sixth place ranking on December 3rd and a seventh place spot on November 22nd.

You can review the full rankings compiled for December 17th from the Province newspaper here.

For the Senior Boys this coming weekend provides for yet more basketball ahead.

In fact it's a full weekend of hoops at the Charles Hays Gymnasium, as three of the schools basketball teams are involved in Alumni match ups on Friday and Saturday.

The Senior Girls, Senior Boys and Junior Boys squads will all be taking part in the weekend of play ahead, as players from the past take on the challenge of youth in the always popular showcase.

The Senior Boys post holiday period will come to an end fairly quickly after New Years, as regional rival Caledonia out of Terrace come to town to take on the Rainmakers on January 3rd for a double header of basketball, with games scheduled for 11 AM and 3 PM.

Three dollars gets adults in the door at the Charles Hays Gymnasium, 1 dollar if you're a student.
