Deadline approaching for participation in the Thrive North Business Challenge



An opportunity for young Northwest residents to submit their unique business ideas is heading into the home stretch of the application process, with February 6th the deadline to have your two stage entries for the Thrive north Business Challenge in place.

As we outlined on the blog back in November, when the Business Challenge program was launched, the initiative is designed to get young adults engaged in entrepreneurial pursuits

Once the deadline has passed, Finalists will be selected between Monday, February 9th and Friday, February 13th, successful applicants will be notified on the Friday, sending them on to the next phase of the competition.

The Pitches to the judges will take place on Friday, March 27th, when the Finalists will make a five minute pitch to the judges, with a five minute follow up period for questions regarding their proposal.

The Award Ceremony set for March 28th, when the six prizes for the Northwest-Skeena region will be awarded in the three categories.

Successful participants will be awarded cash prizes for their successful presentation for three categories:

Best New Business Idea 
Best Business Expansion Opportunity 
Best Social Enterprise Idea.

Prize Distribution will be as follows for each category:

One - Ten thousand dollar ($10,000) cash prize to the first place award recipient.
One- Two thousand five hundred dollar ($2,500) cash prize to the second place award recipient.
