Senior Boys Rainmakers take two from Caledonia in Saturday action

High School Basketball returned to the court at Charles Hays Secondary over the weekend, a full day of Basketball on Saturday provided some entertaining b ball as the Rainmaker Boys and Girls challenged their rivals Caledonia from Terrace.

The Senior Boys found their range with two victories over Cal, as the Rainmakers claimed 59 to 52 and 66 to 45 victories in Saturday's marquee match ups.

The twin victories, despite being short handed due to injuries, highlight the strength of the bench for Mel Bishop's squad this year.

With those stepping into their roles continue to take the play to the opposing squads, sticking to the game plan through each game, a process which so far is keeping the Rainmakers among the top of the listings in BC Boy's AAA basketball this year.

Saturday, also provided a tough test for the Senior Girls, however they had their struggles with a very strong Caledonia side, as the visitors took home a 69-28 decision as part of the Saturday showcase of basketball at CHSS.

The Senior Boys next see action at the Charles Hays Gym this weekend, when Queen Charlotte Secondary make the crossing from Haida Gwaii for two games on January 9 and 10.

They will follow that up on January 23rd and 24th when the Rainmakers host the Sr. Boys Shoot Out when Caledonia returns to town once again.

As for the Junior Boy's Rainmakers, Kevin Sawka's squad are working on their game plan for the upcoming Coastal Clash scheduled for January 16 and 17 at the Charles Hays Gymnasium.
