Weather Warnings set snowfall totals of 10-20 centimetres for coastal areas and Haida Gwaii

Environment Canada put the North Coast and Haida Gwaii up one notch on their Alert system on Saturday, upgrading the Weather Watch to a Weather Warning, with snowfall accumulations for both coastal areas of the region and Haida Gwaii to measure at 10-20 centimetres by the time the system has passed through.

As well as the Snow warnings, the Weather Office also outlined that freezing rain may accompany the system as very strong outflow winds make for colder temperatures.

The weather system has given Environment Canada to issue Weather Warnings for a wide swath of British Columbia, with only the Northeast, West Coast of Vancouver Island and a section of the Central Coast avoiding weather warnings at this point.
