Preparations forming up for Sunken Gardens maintenance for 2015

One of Prince Rupert's more popular attractions is in the process of getting ready for the 2015 season, as the group that watches over the City's Sunken Gardens put out the call for Gardeners for the year ahead.

The Gardens located behind the Prince Rupert Court House provide for an urban oasis, full of colour and a range of plants and shrubs that make the location on of the favourite get away from it all spots in the City.

The Sunken Gardens on a Sunny Prince Rupert afternoon have made for some spectacular backdrops in many a wedding photo, or just snapshots from visitors and residents alike, many of them found on social media venues such as twitter, Facebook or instagram to name a few.

Keeping the highly acclaimed display in good health takes a special touch however and the search is now on for two green thumbs to tend to the Gardens.

The first is a full time position, which starts in May and continues on through until October.

The full time position marks for the main point person to provide for the planting and maintenance of the site, while the Second job opportunity, is for an student assistant, looking to share in the work load.

The student position, which is in place from May through August, is one that requires the applicant qualify for the Federal Student Grant Program,.

Anyone interested in either position can find out more about the two opportunities by contacting Andree Fawcett at andree@citytel.net or by phone at 250-624-3666.

You can review some of the history of the Sunken Gardens here, while Trip advisor visitors have for the most part given the spot an impressive review.
