Wheelhouse takes a taste of the North Coast to Prince George

Samples of some popular North Coast exports could be found in Prince George this weekend, as the local craft brewers at the Wheelhouse Brewing Company, set up shop, taking part in a celebration of the growth of the province's brewing industry in the last year.

The local brewers took part in the Kiwanis AleFest, a day long event Saturday which offered up live music, art exhibit, silent auction and food and beverages, with the Wheelhouse crew providing four of their signature ales for the event.

Among the creations that tempted taste buds of those in Prince George were, Gillnetter Golden Ale, Flagship Pale Ale, Blacksmith Brown Ale and the latest creation of Tannenbaum Stout with spruce tips.

The Wheelhouse Brewing options weren't the only taste of the NorthWest available, with Terrace's Sherwood Mountain Brewhouse also debuting some of their creations for the Prince George audience.

The Saturday event featured two separate tasting sessions, where participants could sample an impressive list of brews from all corners of British Columbia and the Yukon.

Money raised from the AleFest was to be provided for Kiwanis projects and Charities, with part of the event proceeds to go in support to Ronald McDonald House.

You can learn more about the event from the Alefest website, Facebook page and twitter feed.

Hopped up from the experience, organizers are already working on their plans for AleFest II, set for next year, those that took part in this weekend's event are asked to provide some feedback to the organizers, so they can improve the experience for 2016.
