Adverse Weather results in BC Ferries sailing delays

Owing to adverse weather from Haida Gwaii to the North Coast, the Northern Expedition will be holding in Port until at least 6 PM this evening.

BC Ferries issued the Service notice earlier today providing a revised sailing schedule for the next three days for the vessel that serves both Haida Gwaii and Port Hardy.

Marine Warnings in effect along
BC coast for April 9 & 10
The changes of course are subject to weather conditions and could be modified once again should the current weather concerns dictate.

Storm Warnings are currently in effect for all areas of coastal British Columbia from the North Coast
to Vancouver Island and including Haida Gwaii.

Winds are expected to increase to 50 knots near noon and then diminishing to 35 knots by midnight.  With seas expected to range from 3 to 5 metres through to Friday morning.

The full marine forecast for the coast can be reviewed here.
