Recent Marine training exercise hosted by Station 64 highlighted in provincial magazine

Last month's Search and Rescue exercise hosted by Prince Rupert's Station 64 has been declared a major success, with the highlights of the weekend exercise of early April recounted on the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue magazine website.

As we outlined on the blog in mid April, the 2015 Northern SARex took place in and around Prince Rupert over the weekend of April 11th, putting some 40 Search and Rescue personnel through their paces in some challenging conditions.

Representatives of five SAR stations from Prince Rupert, Masset, Kitimat, Lax Kw'alaams and Gitxaala were involved in both information gathering sessions on land,  as well as through hand on activities on the waters surrounding Prince Rupert.

By the end of the weekend events, participants from each of the stations had developed a better understanding as to how each other worked and shared a number of ideas to provide support for each others work in their individual communities.
