Two community Markets make for a busy Saturday for Prince Rupert

Another chance to take in the works of the Salmonberry Farmer's Market arrives this Saturday as the local group sets up shop in the courtyard at Javadotcup on Third Avenue West.

The weekly event is a fixture for the remainder of the summer at that location with a number of hand craft items, home made goods and locally grown vegetables available from Noon until 4 PM.

The shift to the downtown location adds for a bit of activity in the main shopping area of Third Avenue taking advantage of the popular downtown coffee shop as the focal point for the local group which features products from Prince Rupert and the immediate area.

If you miss out on Saturday's Market opportunity, you have two more weekends to check things out with similar events planned for August 22 and 29.

Javadotcup is located beside the CIBC at the corner of Fulton and Third Avenue West.

And while you're in the downtown area, another opening of the Last Minute Market is set for Saturday from 9 to Noon at the Moose Hall across from the Highliner Hotel on Seventh Street.

The year round indoor craft and artisan market is a popular part of the routine for local residents on a Saturday, with a range of items available from home made or second hand.
