Prince Rupert Toastmasters making ready for a new season of Public speaking development

The art of public speaking will once again be available for development in Prince Rupert, as the city's Toastmasters prepare to launch their fall schedule of meetings this month.

The first meeting of the year comes up on Tuesday, September 15th at Northwest Community College from 7:30 to 9:00 PM

That introductory session for the fall will set the timetable for the year to come, with the Toastmasters program hosting each of their weekly sessions every Tuesday evening at the college.

Starting September 15th, Toastmaster International will be hosting
weekly sessions at Northwest Community College
The Toastmasters program was relaunched last year after being in hiatus for a number of years, the successful return of the program found a dozen local residents joining in through the 2014-15 season, looking to refine their public speaking skills or start from scratch in developing more confidence when it comes to public presentations.

President Rob Eby offered up some of the positive things that were noted from last year's relaunch of the program:

“Many of our members who were initially very nervous about addressing even small groups are now regularly assuming leadership roles in the club and delivering off-the-cuff speeches.” ... “Our club members represent a wide range of ages and life experiences,” said Eby. “What we’re finding is that no matter what type of work you do, or whether you’re retired, skillful and confident public speaking is a universal advantage.”

The Toastmaster International program is recognized around the world for it's successful program, with worldwide membership estimated at more than 332,000 members. Members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 15,400 clubs in 135 countries.
