West Side now home to its own corner store

PJ's Haidaway Corner Store opened
late last month at the old
Park Avenue Store location

It's been a while since traffic began to flow into the parking lot at the corner of Park and Smithers.

But late last month, the location once again found cars arriving as West Side residents and those passing through the area checked out the latest retail store to serve the needs of residents west of Five corners.

PJ's Haidaway Corner Store opened its doors on August 25th, taking over the retail space once hosted by the Park Avenue store and featuring both a corner store and food truck service.

With the new operation ready to provide groceries, household items and other services to a portion of the city that has not had a local option in place for a number of years now.

The food truck, which has been a fixture in the city for a number of months now, also is proving to be a destination spot for those looking to test out the city's growing food truck scene.

The location is also close to the Fairview Container Terminal, Campground and Ferry Terminals, all of which should help provide for a fairly loyal clientele in a short period of time.

You can learn more about what they and the popular food truck have to offer as well as what their hours of operation are from their Facebook page here.
