at Frederick and 8th Avenue East on

A number of residents on the east side of the city were without water service for a part of Wednesday evening, while other areas of the east side had reduced water pressure after a water main break at Frederick Avenue and Eighth Avenue East resulted in the tasking of city work crews into the night.

The city workers began the process of repair to the water main shortly after 6 PM, work which required tearing into Frederick street to gain access to the broken line and then effecting repairs to the water main.

A photo posted to Mayor Lee Brain's social media Facebook page, provided a visual guide as to the size of the job required into the evening, as well updates were available from that portal as to the progress of the repairs.

The emergency repair took the work crews to the eleven o'clock hour before they could call it a night.

In addition to the Mayor's social media page, the City posted an advisory of the water main situation to the City Website early on Wednesday evening.
