BC Ferries issues modified schedule for Northern Expedition owing to Wind Conditions

A revised schedule is in effect
for upcoming sailings of the
Northern Expedition on the North Coast
Conditions off the North Coast it would seem are about to become a little unsettled over the next 24 to 36 hours, as an approaching weather system makes for warnings of Severe Weather in the form of wind conditions to come between the North Coast and Haida Gwaii.

A weather concern that has resulted in BC Ferries issuing a Service Notice for the upcoming sailings of the Northern Expedition.

The advisory issued at 12:30 on Thursday notes that the 10 PM sailing out of Skidegate tonight to Prince Rupert has been delayed until 10 AM on Friday, bringing the Northern Expedition into Prince Rupert at 4 PM.

That revision has had an impact of the southern route as well, with the Northern Expedition now scheduled to sail southbound at 8 PM on Friday evening.

The Environment Canada forecast for Haida Gwaii tonight calls for Winds from the Southeast from 60 to 80 km/h in the overnight period.

You can keep up to date on any potential changes to the revised schedule from the BC Ferries Service Notices feature of their website.

For updates on the oncoming weather system see the forecast page from Environment Canada.
