Junior Boys Basketball get honourable mention in pre-season poll

The Charles Hays Rainmakers program is already getting its first mentions of the season, with the release of a Pre-Season poll which gives the Kevin Sawka coached squad an honourable mention to launch the 2015-16 hoops season.

Word that the Rainmaker boys are once again a team to watch this year has made it to the Lower mainland as a popular basketball website takes note of the high tempo of ball found on the North Coast.

The BC Hoop Scoop twitter feed delivered the pre season shout out on Tuesday. Putting the Junior Boys Rainmakers in with some elite company in British Columbia High School Basketball, within striking distance of the Top Ten.

It's proving to be a busy time at the CHSS Gymnasium as the Boys and Girls basketball programs, as well as the Senior Boys Volleyball team all vie for court time.

Having claimed the Northwest zones title over the weekend, the Rainmaker Volleyball squad is tuning up for their upcoming trip to Langley and the BC Provincials, while all four Rainmaker Basketball teams continue to go through their paces, in preparation for the start of the much anticipated High School Basketball season in the Northwest.

One item of note for fans of Rainmaker sports, is tonight's Loonie auction at CHSS, which offers up the chance for Prince Rupert residents to lend their support to the Junior and Senior Girls program at the school.

You can follow all of the Rainmaker developments from the CHSS Twitter feed, as well we have more background on Rainmaker items available on our archive page.
