The early birds get the savings from the Sugar Shack

Prince Rupert's annual festival of Winter and all things Francophone is fast approaching with January 30th the date for the annual Sugar Shack Festival at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.

Your chance to enjoy a taste of Quebec and the Francophone Culture will take place from 11:30 AM to 2 PM with food and family fun part of the Sugar Shack Brunch.

The last chance for early birds to pick up their tickets to the Brunch is today with 2 adult tickets going for 25 dollars, those that purchase the early bird tickets will be eligible to win a return trip for two with vehicle on the Rupert to Haida Gwaii run of BC Ferries.

After today the price of tickets will be 15 dollars for adults and 10 dollars for children 12 and under. All those that purchase tickets to the event are eligible for the Grand Prize of a trip for 4 on a return trip with VIA Rail  on the Prince Rupert to Jasper route.

Tickets for the Sugar Shack Festival can be purchased at the AFFNO office in the Hecate Strait Building on First Avenue East or at Cook's Jewellers.

The organization is also looking for volunteers to help out with some of their activities.

music will be part of this years
Sugar Shack Festival with a performance
from Le Vent du Nord at the Lester Centre
As part of the launch for the Sugar Shack Festival next weekend, the musical group Le Vent du Nord will be touring the Northwest, with a stop in Terrace on Thursday January 28th at the REM Lee Theatre for a 7 PM show.

Friday, January 29th the group arrive in Prince Rupert for a 7:30 PM show at the Lester Centre, with special guests Skeena Skiffle. Ticket prices are 20 dollars in advance, 15 for Students and Seniors.

On the night of the show, tickets will cost 25 dollars at the door.

Tickets for the January 29th show are available at Cook's Jewellers and the Lester Centre.
