Justin McChesney makes UBC T-Birds his post secondary choice!

The next stage of the basketball career for Prince Rupert's Justin McChesney will find him donning the Blue and Gold colours of the UBC Thunderbirds.

On Tuesday evening, the Graduating Senior from Charles Hays Secondary tweeted out a photo, showing him signing his commitment sheet to the Vancouver based University, surrounded by Thunder Bird gear.

The upcoming road to UBC brings to an end his decision process which found the Rainmaker weighing his options since the AAA Provincials came to an end in March.

The Thunderbird program is one of the top basketball programs in Canadian Inter-University Sport, with the T-Birds finishing in fifth place in the Canadian championships earlier this Spring.

May is what is known as signing season in University basketball, with graduating High school students taking stock of the range of offers they have received from university and college programs in Canada and the United States.

For McChesney staying in British Columbia appears to have been key to his decision making, with the acclaimed UBC program looking to be a good fit for his future hoop ambitions.

his High school years with the CHSS Rainmakers

The highly regarded prospect from the Rainmakers will be a solid addition to the UBC program, joining a number of other university bound talent and returning T-Birds at the Point Grey campus as they look to move UBC into the Championship final for 2016-17.
