The latest in community to community forums is now underway in Kitamaat, as the Haisla First Nation and District of Kitimat play host to community leaders from across the region who will spend the next two days participating in panel sessions and discussions on a range of issues of mutual interest.

Day One's activities take place at the Haisla Recreation Centre, as the first sessions of the Two day event covers a range of topics, with issues of reconciliation with First Nations mixing with economic notes related to industrial development in the Northwest.

The forum was scheduled to open up at 11 o'clock this morning with opening remarks from Chief Councillor Ellis Ross and Kitimat Mayor Phil Germuth, following those presentations organizers have assembled a lengthy list of guest speakers for the event.

Many are set to provide insight into the various challenges and opportunities that are facing the Northwest, with those in attendance at the forum looking to explore those themes and seek to share information from their communities.
