MS Regatta visit marked third date on Cruise season calendar

The MS Regatta itinerary includes
a stop in Prince Rupert this season

The Cruise ship MS Regatta pulled into Prince Rupert's Northland Cruise Terminal early Tuesday morning, bringing with her close to 700 tourists to take to the city's streets, restaurants, shops and tour opportunities, with passengers eager to learn more about the region.

Part of the Oceania line, yesterday marked the first of its four stops in the City this cruise season, accounting for one quarter of all the port visits for the year.

Something which almost makes Prince Rupert the Regatta's home port of sorts for the North Coast section of its Alaska Cruise itinerary. Visitors to Prince Rupert had a ten hour window to explore and shop, with the vessel bidding farewell at 6 PM last evening.

The Regatta departed Seattle last Friday and is now making its way back to that port as it nears the end of the one week tour of the Alaska coastline.

The visit from the Regatta makes for the largest of the two vessels that make port calls this week in the city.

Le Soleal, a vessel in the Ponant cruise line arrives at the Northland Terminal at Noon today, that vessel is a somewhat smaller cruise ship than what we have seen so far this year, it will bring 264 visitors to town during the course of its 7 hour stop over in the region.

It will offer a striking profile while alongside the Northland Terminal dock, Le Soleal is also winding down its current tour of the Alaska coastline.

The next Cruise Day for the North Coast comes in July when the MS Regatta returns for a July 13th stopover.
