Blog Watching, week ending July 31, 2016


The last of four community engagement information sessions hosted by the Lax Kw'alaams Band Council took place this week in Terrace as some background on a proposed LNG terminal for Lelu Island was provided for Band members.

Two proposed housing developments also dominated the views on the blog this week, with our notes on a proposed land sale on Graham Avenue and an apartment/condo project proposed for Drake Crescent both finding a large number of readers

North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice had a fairly active week at the summer session of the Legislature, with her presentation to the Legislature on the NDP's Power BC energy plan attracting a fair sized audience.

And Prince Rupert's spot in the national spotlight took place this week, as the North Coast and Haida Gwaii were both featured on the television program The Amazing Race Canada.

The top story of the week however outlined the final of four LNG related information sessions for members of the Lax Kw'alaams Band.

North Coast and Haida Gwaii in Amazing Race Canada spotlight tonight -- Prince Rupert and Haida Gwaii had  a full hour of publicity on the popular television program the Amazing Race Canada (posted July 26, 2016)
