East side pub may soon be back in business!

A deal closes and the possibility of a re-opened Solly's Pub is on the horizon

A once popular destination for Prince Rupert's pub crawlers may once again be a go to destination, with word that Solly's Pub, the east side neighbourhood pub which has been closed for many years has recently been purchased after being included as part of the Prince Rupert commercial realty listings for a rather extended period of time.

Solly's is a name that brings back memories of the competitive Rupert bar and club scene of the late 1980's, a time when the options were plenty for an evening out on the town. Solly's making for a location that hosted many a team celebration, bachelor or bachelorette party, or made for an after work gathering place in its day.

The first bit of business for the new owners is for some renovations to the long closed building, which probably has a bit of a time capsule look to it having been shuttered for a number of years.

There have been no details released as of yet as to who purchased the pub with the spectacular Seal Cove view, but indications are that it is destined to be added to the list of Prince Rupert's club scene.

Other than a short note on the real estate listings pages to suggest a reopening sometime in 2017, no timeline has been provided as to when the location will be back on the pub tour list.

The building, which was listed at $649,000, was one of a number of high profile commercial listings that have been on the market in recent months, the potential reopening for next year will make for a new addition to the restaurant/club scene in the city, a sector that is ever changing as locations open or close.
