Pita please? National chain Pita Pit stakes out downtown location

Call us crazy, but judging by the number of signs affixed to a downtown building this week, it would seem that Pita Pit is about to make its entry as part of the Prince Rupert eatery collective.

Once it  opens the national chain will be located in a building on 2nd Avenue West, the old CN/CP building for those who go way back in the city and have long memories, or the former home for the Hecate Strait Employment Development Society for those with shorter remembrances of Prince Rupert.

The location is making use of the same building that currently hosts the Prince Rupert LNG offices.

The spot in the city that the franchise holders have chose is quickly becoming Prince Rupert's version of Sandwich heaven, with Subway located across the street and Tim Horton's just to the west at the corner of Sixth and 2nd.

The newest entry to the Prince Rupert restaurant listings is currently looking for staff, with a number of positions available for those with an interest in the world of Pita preparation.

You can discover more about what Pita Pit is all about from their Canadian website here.

No timeline has been set as of yet for when the Prince Rupert operations for Pita Pit will be open for business.

Update: The Prince Rupert location for Pita Pit has created a Facebook page for more information about the new food option for the North Coast.
