Site Clearing nears completion for Port's Maintenance and Warehouse project

The Prince Rupert Port Authority is making quick progress on its plans to develop a Maintenance and Warehouse Complex on Scott Road and Highway 16, with contractors having all but completed the site clearing aspect of the project development.

The Coast Tsimshian Norther Contractors Alliance and IDL projects were awarded contract for the work, which will see the new facilities for the Port Authority in place by September of 2017.

The port posted a photo to its Twitter feed earlier today to highlight the progress to this point, which shows how much land the new project will require.

As we noted on the blog in early September, with the ongoing success and expansion of the Fairview Container Terminal, DP world which operates the container terminal required the existing facilities at Fairview for their own use.

That sent the Port to the drafting table to draw up plans for what will be a sixteen million dollar maintenance and warehouse complex on a footprint of land off of Scott Road which leads to the container terminal.

Some background on the Port's infrastructure project can be found here.
