Rainmaker Junior teams on the road this weekend in tournament play



It's a busy weekend of road trips for some of the Charles Hays Basketball Squads as school's two  Junior squads both Girls and Boys head east for Prince George.

Duchess Park Boys Tournament

The Junior Boys are off to the Duchess Park Secondary Condor Tournament which features twelve teams in action.  Five of which are from Prince George area including, College Heights, Kelly Road, DP Todd, PGSS and host Duchess Park Condors.

Also making their way to the Northern Interior city are teams from Smithers, Correlieu, Caledonia, Nechako Valley, North Peace and Mount Elizabeth along with the Rainmakers round out the list of twelve.

The Junior Boys tip off at 11:30 Friday morning against Correlieu, with the winner set to take on Kelly Road at 9 PM.

A loss tin the Friday ice breaker, sends one of the teams to a Friday match up against either Smithers or Duchess Park at 4PM.

The path towards a championship bid takes the teams through Saturday to the Final match up of Saturday afternoon at 3 PM at the Duchess Park Gymnasium.

Scores from the tourney will be posted below as we receive them.

Friday -- Charles Hays 98 vs Correlieu 19 (Quesnel)


Duchess Park Girls Tournament

Six teams take to the basketball court in Girls Action as the Rainmaker Girls join the boys in the
Prince George action.

The Junior Girls are in action twice during Friday's opening day , with their first appearance at 3 PM when they take on Prince George Secondary. 

In the evening game, the Rainmaker Girls play host the  hose Duchess Park B squad one of two that the host team have ready to play.

Other teams on the Girls side of the tournament include North Peace (Fort St. John), Nechako Valley (Vanderhoof) and Prince George's Kelly Road Secondary.

The final to the tournament takes place Saturday at 7 PM.

The Senior Boys have the weekend off as they make their preparations for a trip to Pitt Meadows next week and the high profile Vancouver area tournament of the annual Pitt Meadows Air Show.

The Senior Girls plans for the weekend were unknown as we posted this item. Updates if required will be added as we hear more news.
