NWCC Council nominations process now underway

It's election season at Northwest Community college

With the return to classes of this week at Northwest Community College, the annual election process for the range of Council positions with the college is now underway.

The first call for student nominations is for the Education Council election which will take place on October 2nd.

Four student seats are available on that Council, with a term of office from October 2017 to September 2018

The positions will be filled by election of 2 students who attend the Terrace campus, 1 student attending the Prince Rupert campus and 1 other student attending any campus of NWCC.

Nomination forms must be submitted by 4 PM on September 19.

Two Other elections are taking place for college positions this fall.

The Board of Governors is seeking two student nominations for the upcoming term, with the same nomination deadline and timeline in place as the Education Council process, you can learn more about that opportunity here.

The First Nations Council is also seeking student nominations, with one position available for election this fall.

Background on Participation for that Council is as follows:

Only those enrolled as a student (in good standing) currently attending the College are eligible to participate. If you are uncertain of your enrolment status, please check with your Registration Office. Candidates must be nominated by five other recognized members of the student body enrolled as students attending NWCC from the same campus. Each nominee must declare that s/he has every reason to believe that s/he will be able to fulfill the term of office.
