Busy few days at City's Cow Bay

Prince Rupert put on its best image for those visiting on the final two visits of the 2017 Cruise season this weekend as mainly sunny skies and a hint of fall temperatures greeted the visitors of the Sojourn and Norwegian Jewel on the Saturday and Sunday port calls.

Cow Bay was teeming with people over both days as those aboard the cruise ship, as well as for curious local residents who were taking in the opportunity to tour the Canada C3 expedition vessel Polar Prince mixed along the boardwalks of the Atlin Terminal and Cow Bay Dock.

The Sojourn made a port call Saturday at the Northland Terminal

Sunday it was time for the massive Norwegian Jewel to make its only
visit to Prince Rupert with a day long stopover

Many residents and visitors alike took time to explore the Polar Prince
the vessel which is hosting the Canada C3 expedition 

The twin visits which brought a potential for 2,800 or so cruise visitors to explore the city also had a significant impact on local businesses, with restaurants and stores finding a larger than usual volume of visitors dropping in to eat, or shop than might normally be found, particularly on Sunday.

The busy weekend  for Cow Bay capped off a number of local events for North Coast residents as well. With a number of local venues playing host to events ranging from cultural gatherings for the Vietnamese and Portuguese communities, as well as the wrap up to the annual Harley Riders Toy Drive, a launch to the local curling season at the Seal Cove curling club and the home opener of the Prince Rupert Rampage.
