Port Edward to host Public Hearing on proposed zoning amendment for Senior Housing


Progress may be on the horizon for development of a Seniors housing development in the District of Port Edward, with the District issuing a call for a Public Hearing for a pair of lots in the community.

Residents of Port Edward will have an opportunity to have their say on a proposed Zoning Amendment on October 10th, as the District holds the Hearing to consider rezoning a lot listed as institutional and public use to Multiple Family Residential use.

The property is found in a an area bordered by Alder, Oceanview and Pacific Avenue and the purpose of the rezoning is to subdivide a parcel of land into two and to rezone one section to accommodate Senior Housing requirements in the community.

A copy of the bylaw and any relevant documentation can be reviewed at the District of Port Edward office during regular business hours until the October 10th hearing date.

The District notes that any person who may be affected by the proposed Bylaw shall be afforded opportunity to be heard at the Public Hearing, or by written submission.

Those that cannot attend the hearing can submit their comments to the District, to the attention of Polly Pereira, 770 Pacific Avenue, P.O. Box 1100, Port Edward BC V0V 1G0, written submissions must be delivered by no later than October 6th.

The Public hearing takes place at 6 PM in Port Edward District Council Chambers.
