Six Rainmakers mark times in Cross Country competition at CHSS

The Northwest School Running season is in full stride as we head into mid-October and the team from Charles Hays has been having some strong showings in recent competitions.

The Prince Rupert school hosted a cross country event last week and results posted by Charles Hays show the progress that the running program has found as the year season moves ahead.

The October 3rd meet brought in teams from Caledonia in Terrace, Centennial Christian in Smithers and the Coast Tsimshian Academy in Lax Kw'alaams.

The days run featured two courses, a Seniors Course that was 6.2 km in length and a Junior Course that travelled 4.5 kilometres, among those making their mark during the competition were:

Senior Boys

Colby Stephens with a time of 26.19.12
Michael Kitchener with a time of 28.45.98


Junior Boys

Isaac Mastroanni with a time of 18:57:54
Daylyn Moraes with a time of 19.44.46
David Armstrong with a time of 20.00.80
Dakota Knockwood with a time of 21.29.15

The Northwest Cross Country season continues through this month, with Northwest students running towards the regional zones set for October 21st and Provincials scheduled for November 4th.
