Wind Warning Issued for North Coast, Haida Gwaii

Environment Canada has stepped up its advisory notices in the face of an oncoming Pacific front, issuing a Wind Warning for the North Coast and Haida Gwaii for tonight and Wednesday.

The Advisories note that Southeast winds of 90 km/h, gusting to 110 km/h per hour can be anticipated this evening and overnight.

The Winds are expected to ease as Wednesday moves into the mid morning period.

The path of the oncoming system seems to be one that will carry it south of the Prince Rupert area, delivering larger rainfall amounts to points south of the region.

As we noted on the blog yesterday, the North and Central coasts are in line for a week long string of weather notes as the fall storm season begins to ramp up.
