Cow Bay Marina ... Waiting for the Mega Yachts

There was Plenty of room for a visitor to tie up at
over the weekend  at the Cow Bay Marina facility

The Cow Bay Marina was a good place for some quiet reflection over the weekend, the city operated marina facility a rather serene place for the most part and not the usual bustling centre of activity that the summer months brings to the city's waterfront.

The relative peace and quiet of this weekend probably won't be the atmosphere in the weeks to come, as the 2018 Boating season moves into its active months of the summer

Earlier this year, Cow Bay Marina Manager Robin Beattie travelled to Seattle to fly the City's flag at the Seattle Boat Show, sharing the details of the facility and what Prince Rupert has to offer those that make the journey along the BC coast.

The Boat Show stop was one which the City hopes will to translate into having some of those curious Boat show visitors turning into transiting tourists to the region this summer.

Back in January the City released a report into its plans for the Cow Bay Marina for this year, increasing the rate structure for the season ahead and noting that there had been an estimated 2.5 million dollars in economic spin off benefits for the region from 2016-17.

With the promotion work complete and the new fee structure in place, all that is left is to stand on the dock and await the opportunity to welcome the first of the year's visitors in the weeks to come.
